sufficient information to resolve problems encountered
at the job site. In many cases, the use of competent
laboratory analysis may provide important information not readily
observable
in the field.
There are hundreds of independent laboratories throughout
the United States capable of conducting ASTM Testing procedures.
A handful of these independent laboratories have specialized
in the field of protective coatings. These laboratories
have the equipment and personnel required to analyze samples
taken
in the field and to prepare reports that are understandable
to non-technical personnel.
Mr. Pinney selects the appropriate laboratory to conduct
the work based on his knowledge of the laboratory personnel
and the equipment available from that laboratory to conduct
the analysis.
